
Cümbüs is a stringed Turkish instrument that is widely used all around the country and the world by several musician.
By Structure it’s similar to western banjo and the tuning is similar to eastern oud.
“Cümbüs” consists of two parts, an aluminum body and a wooden neck with a fretless fingerboard while having 6 double row strings.
The original sound of Cümbüs is created by an aluminum body but today copper and wood are also used for accesing different tones.
This combination creates a very rich sound scale, enables musicians to play Cümbüs with different genres all around the world.
